The OG Ladies of AFM Roadracing

When I first started riding and was an absolute canyon junkie, I dreamed of racing someday and was hungry for information about other women who raced. My friend Mike Solis, student, former racer, writer for CityBike Magazine and kick ass triathlete, directed me to an article he wrote and posted on his website about women in the AFM:

The Women of AFM Roadracing

I believe it was written in 2002. It features quotes and news about Wendy Epstein, an AFMer from the 70’s, Fran Crane from the 80’s, and more recently active racers Christine Demas, Kathy Reilly, Jer Stewart, Jennifer Bromme, and more. These women continue to inspire me today. Kathy Reilly instructs and helps run Zoom Zoom Track Days and Jennifer Bromme still races her vintage CB160 and runs the show as owner and service manager at Werkstatt, 2008 winner of the best motorcycle repair shop in the bay area. I also heard that Jer is working for Zero Motorcycles, an exciting new electric motorcycle company based out of Scotts Valley.

Anyone know what the rest of the girls are up to these days?
