Racer Profile: Marisol Lacour

How many fourteen year old girls do you know who race motorcycles?

Not that many, I’d imagine; I only knew one, and she’s fifteen now.

I first spied Marisol Lacour in Fontana at California Speedway. I heard the distinctive, melodious purr of an SV650 and out of the corner of my eye, a flash of the beautiful Alpinestars Stella Julie Suit and a ponytail astride the #195 bike. I was excited to see another young lady out there rocking a twin!

A little investigative work and a few days later, I’ve got the scoop. She hails from Moorpark, California and has been racing motorcycles for three years, mostly minis with the SCMiniGP in Riverside. She tried out for the 2009 Red Bull Rookies Cup and hopes to be a professional roadracer someday. Her dad is a big motorcycle fan and loves watching AMA, MotoGP and cheerleading for his daughter at the races.

Thanks to Brandon Bones of Studio819 Photography for the beautiful photo of Marisol. Good luck this year with your WERA races, Marisol! Send your results and race reports to christie@passedbyachick.com!
