So I’m a pretty okay racer, for a girl I guess, but what’s kind of silly is that when I first started doing track days, it never really occurred to me that I might someday be out there racing; all I wanted was a photo of me dragging my knee around the track. First I had to actually drag knee, which was a process in and of itself, but then for Joe over at 4theriders.com to actually get photographic evidence of it was also a tall order. Finally I got my photo and I was happy, but by then it was too late – I had already picked up a race bike, had a New Racer School day booked with Zoom Zoom Track Days, and was hurtling brazenly along the path of becoming a real motorcycle racer.
Now I have a new mission in life: to drag elbow. But one girl beat me to it:
Mysterious amazon woman Misque Boswell has been spied racing at the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC), Sandia Motorcycle Roadracing Inc. (SMRI) in New Mexico, and with the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM). She is the only woman I know to have gotten the supremely sought-after prize of having photographic evidence of elbow on asphalt. Elena Myers and a bunch of other kids tried mightily at Fontana a couple weeks ago to get some elbow dragging pictures, and even she walked away without the goods. I knew Miss Misque had a photo of her dragging elbow somewhere, so I emailed her repeatedly until she sent it to me.
Kids, do not try this at home.
