Tons of Girl Press in this Month’s Print RRW

Tania Davidson mentioned something about her having some photos in this month’s print edition of Roadracing World, but man, she wasn’t kidding! There’s an awesome feature article about club racing and one mechanic’s quest to find out just how much his mad skills could help out your average, struggling road racer. A friend of Michael Gougis, Tania Davidson had just experienced one more frustrating crash, and Gougis put two and two together and wrote an article about exactly how this mechanic methodically went through Tania’s bike and made it the best it could be for club racing. Awesome write-up Tania, that’s got to be neat seeing yourself in there!

Also, Melissa Paris had not one, but two articles in there that she authored, one about how beneficial it was for a self-professed control freak to get on the back of Chris Ulrich’s bike for the ride of her life at California Speedway at Fontana, and another recapping her awesome year winning the CCS 250 national championship. Go pick up a copy at your local Cycle Gear!

Playing with Ponies!

It was an exciting weekend to be a girl racer in Las Vegas. I can’t say what I enjoyed more: go karting with Melissa Paris and running into Elena Myers, watching Angie Loy continue to dominate on her remarkably fast, totally ponyrific GSXR-600, winning Women’s C Supestock and nearly winning a B Superbike race save for an errant pass under a yellow flag, or getting squeezed to death by a triumphant Krystyna Kubran, elated for not coming in last in A Superbike Expert and Novice. Melissa also rode the wheels off her Honda, Nadine Lajoie and Kristi Martel smoked me in the chick’s race, and I happily found a new way to wear my hair while racing. Having fine hair, you don’t want to let it whip around in the wind too much or you’ll get a ton of split ends, so I started putting it all into a long, ponytail-like bun at the top of my head to keep it all tucked inside my Arai helmet. It looks cleaner and more legit around the boy racers, and it keeps my hair silky soft!

More to come on official results tomorrow. Time to do make some things happen that will stay in Vegas.
