Katie Carney’s Race Report from WERA at VIR

As far as I know, Katie Carney is currently the only women racing WERA’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, although recent emigrant to Georgia Teri Gorrell may make appearances at some of the Mid-Atlantic races. Katie’s started off her 2009 year with a bang, finishing at the tops of her novice classes during her second year of racing. Enjoy her exciting race report from action at Virginia International Raceway just this past weekend. Great job Katie!

Coming Soon to the AFM: Formula AFemme

For the past few months I’ve been working with AFM and WERA racer Joy Higa and soon-to-be AFM racer Svetlana Gorina on proposing a women’s racing class to the AFM, the west coast’s largest roadracing club. Well, most of you may have already heard from my Facebook status, but it looks like Formula AFemme will be a go, starting with the AFM’s second round at Infineon April 24th – 25th. We’re looking for the right title sponsor for the class and are actively recruiting as many women to come out and race with us, so please help spread the word.
